Bantams win league semifinal at home

For the first time in its short history, the Bantam Titans are on their way to the league finals.
The bantams hosted the Wetaskiwin Warriors last Saturday and came out fighting.

The Titans jumped out in front with two touchdowns in the first quarter and never looked back. Wetaskiwin recorded a touchdown and convert in the second quarter, but the Warriors couldn’t match the Titans offence, as they scored six touchdowns. Spencer Fournier continued his dominance, scoring four of his own while Steven Roberson scored one and Alan Lister intercepted and ran it back for a touchdown.
“This was our first win of the post season,” said Coach Paul Redmond. He said everything was working, offence and defence.
The Titans are up against Sylvan Lake for the league championship, and are hosting them at Titans Field this Saturday. This is the furthest the Bantams have ever progressed in a season.
They have their work cut out for them. Redmond said the teams match up well; both are a little smaller and a little faster.
“I think we are a bit larger… I think we can beat them, it is going to be a close game, it is not going to be a cakewalk,” said Redmond.
The league championship game may not be the end of the season for the Bantam Titans.
“If we win we are on to provincials,” said Redmond. “As long as we keep winning, we keep carrying on.”
The Titans will be on the field at 1 p.m.
