911 dodgeball

Someone call 911!

On Monday, April 26th, grade six students from Greentree School squared off with the RCMP in round after round of Dodge Ball.

This event was held as a fundraiser for the grade six field trip to the Alberta Legislature. Each grade six student who wanted to play paid $3.00 for the privilege. All spectators paid $.25 to watch the action. Some parents donated funds to the cause.

A good 35 students attended this event along with Drumheller RCMP officers and a lot of spectators. Teachers and some of the crowd joined in on the variety of dodgeball games played. Many variations were played.

Th e R.C.M.P. took on the boys, then the girls. Teachers teamed up with the boys and the R.C.M.P. joined the girls. Battles were fought as the balls flew.

The students put all their energy into the game and spectators cheered enthusiastically.

“A memorable game!” says one of the hosts, Rachel Engen. “I am so glad that I got involved in this event.”

In the end, it was a very successful event. $149.40 was raised at the game. The RCMP and grade sixes will remember the fun and action of 911 Dodgeball.
