Daneault racks up accolades

Ty Daneault 1

Drumheller Dragon Ty Daneault has had an impressive couple of weeks being named Canadian Junior Hockey League’s 1st Star of the Month for January and also named the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month.
An impressive opening month of 2023 saw the Merrimack College NCAA D-I commit pile up 21 points for Drumheller on 10 tallies and 11 helpers.
The 18-year-old Red Deer, Alberta product, who played for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge back in December, etched his name on the game sheet in all but one outing in January that produced a hat trick and six multi-point affairs.
In his second AJHL season, Daneault leads the Dragons in scoring with 57 points, is third in the AJHL for goals with 31 and is ninth overall in points. He was recently tabbed on NHL Central Scouting’s mid-term rankings list for the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville, Tenn.
