Heavenly Father has called home one of His special children. Fay Holt Begg passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Fay is survived by her loving eternal companion, Mike Begg, and children: Glen Anderson (Lorea), Laura Radtke (Gil), Carol Begg, Rosemary Dolesji, Bonnie Russell (Ryan), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fay is also survived by her mother Jean Holt and brothers, Ed (Betsy) and Dan (Arlene) and is pre-deceased by her father Ed and older brother Harry Holt. Fay was born on October 8, 1940 in Peace River, Alberta. She served in the Canadian Navy and worked in printing and graphic arts before returning to school at the age of 43 for her teaching degree. Fay was a talented artist who taught school in Drumheller and the surrounding area and recently retired from Adult Literacy of which she was a strong advocate and supporter. Fay also served as a volunteer for many years in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints as well as in the Drumheller community. She loved the Saviour and worked hard to follow His example of love and service to others. She has now gone to join Him and will most assuredly continue her work of love and charity as she shares the Gospel in Paradise. God be with you ‘til we meet again. We will miss you. Funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus  Christ of Latterday Saints at 1455 4th Avenue NW in Drumheller on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Munson Cementery. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Alberta Literacy.

Mr. John Sterenberg passed away on October 7, 2011 in the Barrhead Continuing Care Centre at the age of 101 years and six months. He was born to Meerten and Zwantje Sterenberg in Baflo, Holland. He immigrated to Canada in 1929 and farmed for over 50 years in the Glenevis, AB area. John is survived by his loving family; his daughters Alice (Jack) Burlet, Mary (Bill) Myndiuk, Velma Sterenberg and Dani (Tom) Dooley; 6 grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Matt, Teresa, Michael and John; 6 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Julianne, Jacob, Hannah, Zack, Jared and sister-in-law Pie, as well as other extended family in Canada, Holland and Slovakia. John was predeceased by his parents; son, Martin; his wife of 62 years, Mary; daughter, Hilda; brothers, Died and Geert; brother-in-law, Henk Lesterhuis; nephew, Hans Lesterhuis; and sister, Hilje (Lesterhuis) on October 9, 2011. A memorial service was held Friday, October 21, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the John and Mary Sterenberg Established Fund, University of Alberta Hospital Foundation, 8440 112 Street, Edmonton, AB  T6G 2B7, or charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead, AB 780-674-4644. An Honoured Provider of Dignity Memorial.

1923 - 2011


Holly was born in Sacramento, California in 1923 and passed away peacefully October 27, 2011.  She married Fredrick Tabert in 1945 and soon to follow had 10 children.  She is predeceased by her 1 son, Larry Tabert.  Holly had several grandchildren and numerous  great-grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed by all.
