Edith (Peggy) Patricia

October 27, 1924 - January 6, 2019

Edith (Peggy) Patricia Britton (nee Davis) passed away peacefully in her sleep January 6, 2019 at the age of 94. Born October 27, 1924 in Vancouver, BC to Jack LIewellan Davis and Molly Christina Inkster. Peggy, the oldest of four children was raised in St. Marks, Manitoba, and moved to Vancouver to attend High School and secretarial college, joining the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Upon completing school in Vancouver, Peggy returned to Manitoba to further her education by enrolling in Success Business College in Winnipeg. Following her training, Peggy worked at the Canada Revenue Agency and CP Rail in Winnipeg, where she met her future husband: Robert Britton. The two married and relocated to Alberta to begin new careers – Peggy worked at the Alberta Treasury Branch. She leaves to mourn three daughters: Sandra (Claymore) Britton, Robbie (Rod) Britton-Audy, and Donna (Jim) Vigar. Peggy’s pride and joy were her grandchildren: Justin Vigar (Lethbridge), Jordyn (Braden) Dewsbery (Drumheller), Megan Audy (Drumheller), Shae-Lynn Audy (Ottawa), and two great-grandchildren Grayson and Wyatt Dewsbery (Drumheller). Additionally, she leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her father in 1929, sisters Doreen and Mae in 1975 and 2001 respectively, husband Robert in 1999, and brother John in 2010. Peggy will be most remembered for the sprawling gardens she grew every year - filled with beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables, and the love she spread throughout her family. Funeral services for Peggy are Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Magloire’s Anglican Church, Drumheller, Alberta. The family is grateful for the gracious, and compassionate care offered by the staff of Continuing Care during our Mother’s stay. Donations can be made to the Drumheller Health Foundation, Recreational Therapy. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
