Margaret Isabelle Elhart of Bassano Alberta, beloved wife of the late Norman Elhart, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2011 at the age of 72 years. Marg attended school in Parkland, Coutts and Milk River. After graduating Marg went on to Henderson Business College in Lethbridge and soon after moved to Calgary. She then met Norm there and they were married on November 22, 1958, and then resided in Medicine Hat. Marg worked for various businesses as well as owning her own small cleaning business. Norm and Marg then moved to Bassano in 1992, where they owned and operated Bud’s Coffee Shop. They sold the coffee shop in July 2000, and they both retired. Over the years mom enjoyed bowling, curling, camping, jigsaw puzzles and tried her hand at many various crafts. Her grandchildren were her true passion, she loved spending time with them at the farm and attending many hockey games as well as school activities. Marg is survived by; her loving daughter Sherri (Eric) from Hussar, AB, and her grandchildren: Owen Nielsen, Reed Nielsen, Spencer Nielsen and Leeza Nielsen all from Hussar, AB., brother Alan (Ester) Gates, sister Dorothy (Alf) Johnson, brother-in-law Larry (Judy) Elhart, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret was predeceased by; her loving husband Norman, her parents Alice and Lester Gates, sisters Joyce Munro, Eillen Orcutt, brother Ray Gates and stepmother Lucille. A Memorial Service was held  at the  Hussar Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 8th , 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made in memory of Marg to the Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta 111 West Campus Place NW, Calgary, AB T3B 2R6 or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut 124-430 6 Avenue SE Medicine Hat AB T1A 2S8.
