Fire Department responds to truck fire

IMG 1319

The Drumheller Fire Department responded to a garbage truck fire on South Railway Avenue near Elgin Hill at about 10:45 this morning. It appears the load of a GFL compactor truck caught fire. The driver was able to dump the large pile of garbage onto the adjacent service road, which spared the truck and allowed the department to fight the fully engulfed blaze. Drumheller RCMP was on site to direct traffic around the incident.
