Drumheller and District 4-H members take in Bamford concert

After a close finish in the “Why is 4-H Great” contest last summer, Members of the Drumheller and Disitrict 4-H travelled to Lakedell Alberta to hear Gordon Bamford in concert.
“We had a great time at the Gord Bamford Concert November 15 in Lakedell, Alberta,” said Drumheller and District 4-H Key member Michelle Hoover.
In a close completion, Drumheller District 4-H lost the “Why 4-H is Great Contest” by one vote to the Lakedell Lighthorse 4-H Club.
“But they didn’t forget us, instead they invited us to the concert and a few of us were able to attend,” she said. “When Gord Bamford and his talented band took to the stage, we knew it was worth the drive.”
Tim Belec, Assistant Leader of the Lakedell Club said “The Drumheller 4-H Video entry was great and the competition made the contest fun for everyone. Right away the kids wanted to invite some 4-Hers from Drumheller to come to the concert.”
The Lakedell 4-H members working with their local ATB hosted the Gord Bamford 4-H Benefit Concert. The concert raised $17,500 for the Lakedell 4-H Club, Wetaskiwin District 4-H, and charities such as the Stollery Children’s Hospital and the CNIB –helping people with vision loss.
To top off the evening, the 4-H Foundation of Alberta invited Drumheller District 4-Hers to overnight at the 4-H Centre. Put it all together and that is what makes 4-H Great. Thanks to Gord Bamford, the Lakedell Lighthorse 4-H Club and the 4-H Foundation of Alberta.
