Name: Dena Esary.

Occupation: Server at Vintage Bar & Grill and supervisor at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Age: 28.

How long have you lived in the area? I moved to Drumheller in June 2009.

Where are you originally from?Vancouver, my journey brought me here.

What do you like best about Drumheller? The people.  On average, they go over and above to help out others. I’ve got dozen of stories of things people have done for me that would have been unheard of in the city, from taxi drivers to lawyers!

If you could change one thing about Drumheller what would it be?I’d build a Tim Horton’s.

What do you like about your job?The locals I get to know and getting to hear the tourists’ stories, it always amazes me how far they travel to come here!

What do you do in your spare time?Bingo and hiking.

What’s the most important decision you have ever made? To make choices in my life that were productive and made me happy, instead of living for other people’s happiness.

What would you like to achieve this year?Pay off all my bills!

What’s your favorite movie and why?  I have so many favourites! But I have to say Grease, Dirty Dancing and Top Gun, they kind of shaped my childhood.

What’s on your playlist?I don’t have an iPod or an MP3 player. I really like a bit of everything, from country all the way to classic and back to house!

Has reading a book ever changed your life? If yes, which one?I read a lot and each book leaves something with me. The Notebook really got to me.

Any unusual habits?I eat my McDonald’s burgers plain with chicken nuggets and french fries all in the bun, I have been doing this since I was a kid!

If you could choose one super power, which would it be?  To be the best person, wife and mother I could be.

If you found a $100 bill what would you do?  If it couldn’t be returned then I would buy some hiking gear which is a new hobby of mine in the Badlands.

If you could retire tomorrow, what would you do?Travel.

If you could travel back in time and meet yourself as a 10 year old kid, what advice would you give yourself? Smarten up and appreciate the people in your life!

Words to live by? Failure is not an option.

Name:Royal Sproule.

Occupation:Artist/Actor/Musician/Gallery Owner/Director of Canadian Badlands Passion Play.

Age:45.

How long have you lived in the area? I moved to Rosebud in 1976.

What do you like best about Drumheller? The locals are fiercely independent, and march to their own drumbeat.

If you could change one thing about Drumheller what would it be?That we stop being so shy about showing off our one-of-a-kind world-class valley to the world.

What do you like about your job?Showing visitors the vast array of art being made in the valley.

What do you do in your spare time?Follow Calgary Flames, and Stamps.

If you were granted three wishes from an angel or genie what would they be?  I’d stuff cancer in a punching bag and give everyone I know the opportunity to beat on it until it is rendered useless.

What’s the most important decision you have ever made? Not marrying the first girl that came along. Waiting for my soulmate. And uh, I am still waiting.

What would you like to achieve this year?Open a booming Art Gallery....check me out!

What’s your favorite movie and why?  Anything written by David Mamet. (Glengary Glenross/Spanish Prisoner/State & Main etc) I love his dialogue.

If you chose one super power, which would it be?  Able to be invisible.

If you were reborn, who would you want to be reborn as? and why? A 1st century Galilean. To listen and follow Jesus around and see how much of a resemblance he is to what we’ve been taught 2000 years later.

If you found a $100 bill what would you do?  Make a quick poster saying I found an “amount of money” and hope that no one claims it. Then I’d go out for Thai Food and a bottle of red wine with my soul mate.

If you could retire tomorrow, what would you do?Take my soulmate and tour around Ireland for a spell.

If you could travel back in time and meet yourself as a 10 year old kid, what advice would you give yourself? Put all your money into a new computer company called Apple. Oh yeah, and follow your dreams.

Words to live by? Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Who are you? Rita from “Like Bees to Honey” played by Jessica Davison

Name: Rita Chang Diaz

Employer: I’m a freelance writer so myself, I guess.

What do you like about your job?  I set my own schedule for the most part.

Where do you live? New York, New York baby!

How long have you lived there? I moved here from Costa Rica in 1992, so 18 years now. It’s crazy how time just flies like that.

What do you like about the place? It’s never quiet. Not ever...the street sounds like music: it’s a harsher, more industrialized beat than the jungle, but listening to it reminds me of times I spent climbing through the trees back home with my Dad. It’s never quiet there either. Nope, not ever.

If you could change one thing about the town you live in what would it be?I miss my family, I wish they lived here with me...Lord knows I could never move back there, not now....the education they sent me here for has been very different from what we expected. I’m afraid I wouldn’t fit in anymore...

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?Right here. I love it, even if it’s a bit cold. America is my home now.

What is your one regret in life?Who has only one regret? I have so many, so many indeed but I am looking more to the future now instead of dwelling on what can’t be changed. I am living for today and right now, that is enough.

Your life’s best achievement? I worked hard for my degree, I’m very proud of that accomplishment. I did it while working a full-time job and finished school without debt thanks to hard work and determination, as well as my father’s contribution. He saved for as long as I can remember to be able to send me here. I think the people living outside this country have a very different idea of American life than what it’s really like. Still, I’m happy here.

What are your strengths? I am very organized. I am fun-loving and have an enjoyable personality.

Any weaknesses?Of course! I would never just give you my kryptonite though.

Three words that best describe you? Vivacious, outgoing and friendly.

What makes you happy?Reggae, happy people...a well made martini. Little pleasures.

If you could travel back in time and meet yourself as a 10 year old kid, what advice would you give yourself?I would tell me to enjoy my family every moment. To enjoy every moment, because they pass by so suddenly: the moments we cherish, they pass into memory and soon are gone.

Words to live by? ‘When you like something, you should do it all night long.’ That’s a quote from Chavela Vargas...a Tican musician.
