Who are you? Calsea Freeman

IMG 1938

Title: Owner of CitiZen Yoga

What do you like most about your job?
Besides everything, I guess interacting with people and either introducing them to yoga or helping them to further their yoga practice. It’s important that we move, and as we age we tend to slow down. I’m really trying to encourage people of all ages to stay active and stay moving for a healthier. I thought I just need to get to the older generation because I see how crippling it is. I want everyone to stand tall.

If you didn’t do what you do for a living, what would you be doing?
This is it, I’m hitting it.

Who is your hero?
Probably my grandma. I always looked up to her and she always taught me how to be independent.

Last series on Netflix you've been binge watching?
I don’t even want to admit this, but last night my husband put on Netflix and we watched Bob Ross for hours. We always watch it in bed on Youtube.

It’s Sunday morning. What are you having for breakfast?
Probably tater tots, sausages, and eggs. And coffee.

If you could go see one concert, who would you see?
Celine Dion. I’m like the most boring person in the world. I’ve already seen Britney, I’ve already seen Pink and those would be high up on the list too.

What’s your weirdest habit?
I always have to lift my feet when going over train tracks when I'm driving. It’s something I used to do as a kid and now I can’t not do it.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Poutine, any kind of poutine. Also, my husband is an incredible cook so pretty much anything he makes is my guilty pleasure.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
It would honestly have to be something like taking pain away from people. I feel guilty when people don’t feel good. I don’t know what i did in my last life to feel that way, but I always have to try to take away the hurt away from others. I always have to remember you don’t have to do that.

If we’re buying dinner, you’re having…
I am probably having honestly a poutine, but other than that steak and lobster are good go-tos.

What are your words to live by?
Live, laugh, love. They just resonate with me. I guess that’s how I see my life – live it to the fullest, laugh often, love always.
