Area seniors bring home gold rush from games

    There was gold rush at the Alberta 55-Plus Games for Drumheller athletes, after three competitors qualified for the Canada Senior Games next summer in Ontario.

Bob Moffatt, Billie Wood and Ian Daniels all competed at the 2009 Alberta 55-Plus Games, hosted by Airdrie, Alberta. Julie Lenfesty also entered an Afghan in the Arts and Crafts competition.

Local pitcher has shot at Softball World Series

A Drumheller area soft-ball player is on her way to the national championship, and if her team is success-ful, she will be playing in the international Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington.


Bailey Faubion, 14, was a member of the Richardson Roadrunners softball team, based out of Drumheller. Th e team made it to provincials, and fi nished in the middle of the pack.
