Dynos undefeated through first Tourney, home opener

The DCHS Senior boys Dynos are off to a flying start this season with a tournament win, and then a victory last Monday at their home opener.
The Dynos faced Prairie Christian Academy on Monday, December 16. The team jumped out to a 24 point lead in the first quarter. This allowed coaches to play their whole bench and get a look at all of their players in a game situation, as well as give the players valuable on-court experience.
Prairie was able to cut the lead to 11 by the end of the third quarter, but the Dynos exploded in the fourth to take a 30 point lead, winning 92-62.
Four of the five starting DCHS players had double figure scoring.
This follows on a successful run at the Brooks Composite Invitational Tournament last weekend.
The Dynos went to Brooks December 11 and 12 to play in the invitational tournament.
On Friday night the team went up against Kate Andrew of Coaldale. This was their first win of the season as they took the first game of the season with a score of 67-64. Chad Molzan had 22 points and nine rebounds in the effort.
Ths put them in the semifinals against Picture Butte, the same team that kept the Dynos from claiming gold at the provincials.
Mitch Smith had 25 points and 17 rebounds as the Dynos won 78-54.
This determined the final as the Dynos took on the home team. The strong play of Molzan and Smith guaranteed the Dynos victory as they cruised to a 74-67 win.
The Dynos’ next game is versus Acme on Thursday, December 17.
