Dynos looking for Hawaii tournament sponsorship

The DCHS senior girls basketball team is getting set for a one of a kind season that includes hitting the hardwood in Kailua-Kona Hawaii.
The Dynos have been invited to the 11th annual Spalding World Youth Basketball 2009 Tournament. This is a prestigious international tournament and an experience of a lifetime for the team.
“They (the team) will force many cultural exchanges, cultivate new friendships and create lifelong memories of the event,” said head coach Laura Hegberg. “As an additional benefit, tournaments scouts will be there to help our players improve their skills as well as to seek out those who are at a college level of play.”
The tournament is from December 26, 2009 to January 1, 2010, and the team has been feverishly fundraising for the event. The 10 members of the team are working to raise $22,000 for the trip. They have raised about half of their goal through all kinds of endeavours including bottle drives, catering duties, pancake breakfasts, raffles, shootathons and school pizza lunches.
The Dynos are now looking for sponsorship from the community to allow the team to participate in the tournament.
“Any donations would be appreciated, and will be noted in tournament programs,” said Hegberg in a letter to garner support. “As well the team would be proud to place your banner/ sign in the Kona School Gym.”
“This is a once in a lifetime experience that the girls will have for the rest of their lives, please help us make this possible and give our girls the opportunity to put Drumheller on the map.”
