Bulechowsky’s pool team finishes in the money at Vegas tournament

A Drumheller pool player has shown he is in the elite of the game, when his team placed 33rd out of 800 competitors at a pool tournament in Las Vegas.     Shawn Bulechowsky is known for shooting stick in the valley, and regularly plays in the Drumheller BCA League. His team in Drumheller, Hi-Octane, placed fourth in Drumheller and earned a spot to Las Vegas in the BCA Tournament.
Bulechowsky however played with a team he has played with in Calgary for a number of years called  the Working Stiffs. They clawed their way through the tournament with their best finish ever.
“It went well, when one guy shot bad, the other person shot well, and vice versa,” said Bulechowsky.
He said it was a gruelling schedule, and he played for 12 hours on one day of the competition and 15 hours on the second. The team was close to cracking the top 25. They lost to a team from Texas on the A-side, and had to play 13 games on the B-side to meet the same team for a rematch. This time they handily beat the Texas team.
For their effort, the team won $700.
Individually Bulechowsky did well, and placed 150th out of about 1,200 players, another best showing for him.
