HARDY, David Grover
1931 - 2011


David Grover Hardy was born in the Drumheller Hospital on September 22, 1931 and passed away peacefully in the Drumheller Continuing Care Facility, at the age of 80 years. David is survived by; his daughter Janice M Hardy of Rosedale, his two sons David W Hardy (Joyce) and Randy G Hardy (Sharon) of Rosedale, Sisters  Pearle Gillrie and Pat Gorse as well as brothers Charles Hardy and Harold Hardy,  Grandchildren: Justin (Mel), Travis (Vicki), Jamie (Dan), Kyle (Amanda), Nathan, Jasmine (Ryan) and Taylor, Great-Grandchildren: Lochlann, Alivia, Grayson and Finley. David was predeceased by his loving wife Frances M Hardy and his parents Sylvia Hardy and Grover Hardy and sister Eva Thomas. David was raised on the family farm in the Verdant Valley area. After Dave finished High School, he served a short time in the Armed Forces until becoming injured. He then returned to Drumheller and started his mechanical career where he became well known throughout the Drumheller Valley and surrounding areas for his vast knowledge in auto, agriculture and antique equipment. In 1977 Dave and his wife Frances moved to the Morrin area where he managed and operated Waters Farm for 27 years until he retired in 2004. Dave was a long time Elks and Legion member. He enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren and visits from his great grandchildren. Service of Remembrance for Dave will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Gilles LeBlanc as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation Tom Baker Cancer Center 1331-29 Street NW Calgary AB T2N 4N2. WILSON, Myrtle Louella
(nee Sowerby)
August 26, 1933 - October 25, 2011


Myrtle “Mert” Louella Wilson (nee Sowerby) was born in Nacmine, Alberta on August 26, 1933 and passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital on October 25, 2011 at the age of 78.  Myrtle is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donald Blair, her brother Brian Sowerby and sister Donna Gardam, her son Donald James, her grandchildren Michelle (Kevin), Donald Christopher (Michelle), Robert (Kylee), Stephanie (Steve) and “adopted” grandson Chad, as well as great-grandchildren Talin (Donald), Gabriel and “Baby Wilson” due in May (Robert and Kylee).  Myrtle was predeceased by her father William Sowerby, her mother Jean Sowerby (nee Panasky), her aunts Mary and Olga and her uncle Cerky.  Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was well known for her sharp wit, quick tongue and willingness to speak her mind.  For these and many other qualities she will be missed dearly.  At Myrtle’s request a private burial was held at the Drumheller Municipal Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Dr. Racz and all the nurses and staff at the Drumheller Hospital for the excellent care that Myrtle received, as well as the many friends and family that have shown their kindness and shared their condolences during this difficult time.  Your thoughtfulness and compassion has helped to keep us strong as we mourn the loss of an important part of our family. Ada Gogal of Red Deer, AB passed away at a wonderful age of 92 years.
Ada will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Beverley (John) Hodgson of Red Deer, son Barry Gogal of Ardrossan; grandchildren Lesley (Andrew) Tetz, Christine Barkley, Rayna (David) Rose, Jordan (Aeron) Gogal; great grandchildren Tristan, Karyssa, Brooke, Jazmen, Domanic, Sterling, Bryden, Kayle, Jessie, Mason; Sisters Thelma Ball and Evelyn McAlister. Ada was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and John Hautzinger, Husband Lauddy, 9 siblings and daughter-in-law Linda. Special thanks to all the staff at Extendicare Michener Hill for all their compassion and care given to Ada over the past few years. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday November 3, 2011 at the Rumsey Community Hall; Rumsey AB from 1:30 – 3:30 PM; Eulogy to be delivered at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
