Fred Dayman was born in the Drumheller Hospital February 25, 1956. Fred and Alisa met in the Last Chance Saloon, were dating by 1988, and married August 25, 1991.
As a young man Fred travelled for a few years before returning home to Wayne in about 1982, and started helping his mom in the operation of the Rosedeer Hotel now called The Last Chance Saloon in Wayne. In 1983, he purchased the business from Dien Dayman and she retired at the age of 70 years. Fred and Alisa worked together for many years making the Last Chance Saloon a favourite tourism destination for people from all over the world.
Over the years Fred was very involved in his Community and family. There were baseball games, winter car racing derbies on the Rosebud River (Creek Races), hog rallies, frisbee golf, racing up the hills behind the hotel (for a trophy!), campfire sing-a-longs, swimming in the creek, family reunions, and working tirelessly and fundraising for the Wayne Community Association.
