John “Delmar”

August 9, 1937 - January 1, 2024

Mr. John “Delmar” Adie of Drumheller, AB passed away January 1, 2024, at the Drumheller Health Centre-Continuing Care at the age of 86 years.
Delmar was born August 9, 1937, at Drumheller, AB to John “Jack” & Adelaide Adie. He attended school in the Verdant Valley/ Livingstone District and graduated from the Olds School of Agriculture.
Delmar was a farmer and music was always Delmar’s greatest passion, he played piano, guitar and was a singer with the Badland Boogie Band, Badlanders, Bert & Bobby Hoy, Jack Cuncannon, Ernie Warwack, & Don Howard as well as many solo acts in and around the area.
Delmar ran the 4H Light Horse Club & was a past president of the Lions Club, he was also one of the founding members of the Stampede Grounds. He was a horseman, a hunter, and a dog lover. The last dog he loved so dearly was Molly who predeceased him in 2021.
Delmar is survived by his children – 5 boys, Glen (Nadine), Dale (Melanie), Dean (Ruby), Scott, Grant (Jodi), 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Muriel (Dan) McDermid, Carol (Peter) Bongers.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at 1 pm at the Munson Community Hall, 301 Main Street, Munson, interment will be in Spring 2024.
Free transportation service from Drumheller provided to and from the Munson Hall if required.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
