GeraldandLorraineFoessier

FOESIER
Gerald and Lorraine

Husband, Dad, Uncle, Opa;
Gerald Patrick Foesier,
born December 28, 1942, died September 9, 2023.

Wife, Mom, Aunt, Oma;
Lorraine Victoria Foesier (McLean),

born May 24, 1940, died September 9, 2023.

Gerald and Lorraine lived the majority of their life together on the farm on Highway 56 near Rumsey and Rowley. Lorraine moved from Calgary to live on the farm with Gerald. In 1968, November 9th they were married. On November 9th they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. With all of the ups and downs on farm, family life, community, and church, both of them lived full lives right up until Mom went into long-term care in the Drumheller Health Centre. Dad still spent many hours visiting with Mom while she was in long term care.
Dad and Mom were always active in the Rumsey and Rowley community associations, crib, bingo, curling, Elks, Turkey bingos and Rodeos, the Catholic Church (K of C and C.W.L.), and the different crafts that they picked up from year to year, (quilting, wheat weaving, crochet, paper tole, rug hooking, string art, etc.…)
Sadly, their last few days were spent apart in different hospitals, both started having complications and passed away within moments of each other. Mom passed first and then went to gather Dad moments later. They both left this earth together.
Gerald is survived by a brother, Bernard Foesier and a sister, Marie Turnbull (Foesier).
Lorraine is survived by one sister, Mickie Korek.
Gerald and Lorraine are also survived by their three sons, Nellis (Gloria), Jeremy (Karhem), Chris (Anne-Marie), Gerald’s daughter Patti (Chris), grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large extended family.
A funeral mass for Gerald and Lorraine will be held at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 A.M., followed by a luncheon at the church hall. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Lorraine’s name, Canadian Cancer Society in Gerald’s name, or S.T.A.R.S. in both their names.
