With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Farmer, a beloved husband of Gail Farmer and father of Kari (Saverio Filippis) Farmer.
Predeceased by his father Albert Farmer, his mother Jennie (Pinkus) Farmer, and his brothers Douglas Farmer and Albert Farmer. Gary leaves behind his brother Joseph and sister Linda Fisher.
Born on August 21, 1948 in Drumheller, Alberta, Gary moved to Edmonton, Alberta and lived there for over 53 years with his wife Gail until his death on September 22, 2023. He loved his home and enjoyed sitting on the patio.
Gary will perhaps be best remembered for his reverence for all things Elvis. His admiration for the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll was infectious and brought a sense of joy, music, and a touch of Elvis-styled swagger to our lives.
Gary also enjoyed playing crib with an intense passion that made it very hard to win against him. And he was obsessed with watching sports such as hockey, curling, and golf on the television. He never missed a game if he could help it and could answer any question related to any sport with accuracy.
As we bid farewell to Gary, we choose to celebrate his life and his spirit. Rest in peace, Gary. Your melody will continue to play in our hearts, just like an Elvis classic.
