DOUCETTE
Irene Violet

September 12, 1928 - August 7, 2023

Irene passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7th at Points West (Dementia Care Unit), Stettler at the age of 94 years old.
She is survived by her daughters LeeAnne Rideout (Brian), Wendy Reneau and son Michael (Deanna) and sister Pat Dundas from Ontario, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, son Peter, parents William and Mary Morrow, brothers Bill and Donald Morrow.
Irene was a life-long resident of Drumheller and cared about the community. She was one of the first switchboard operators of Alberta Government Telephones. She was gifted with baking and created realistic Disney character cakes for her grandchildren’s birthdays. Friends and family were recipients of her delicious baked goods. Irene enjoyed the game of Bridge and became an accomplished player.
Irene cared deeply about the cemetery and wanted it to be a beautiful resting place for Drumheller’s loved ones. She worked tirelessly in the cemetery and donated the angels at the entrance.
I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to the staff of Point West, Stettler and to the Alix Crescent Unit who loved and cared for Mom these last 9 years.
Irene’s life will be celebrated by family.
