Lois Evelyn

September 16, 1936 - April 13, 2018

Lois Evelyn Hiller (nee Colter) age 81, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family and friends on April 13, 2018. Lois was born on September 16, 1936 in Drumheller to her parents, Clayton and Marjorie Colter. She trained in the Drumheller Hospital and worked for a decade and a half as a Medical Records Technician in Drumheller and numerous Calgary area hospitals. In 1964, she married Glen Hiller, and they moved to Calgary (1966), where they started their family and lived until 1982 when they moved onto the Hiller family farm at Ghost Pine Creek (Three Hills). Lois gladly and willingly retired from her career (1970) to be a full-time stay-at-home mother and homemaker, which she considered her primary and most important natural calling. Lois was known for her patience and gentleness, and her ability to make others feel loved and cared for. She was always up for a cup of tea and a good visit, revealing her genuine interest in each and every person in her life and those she crossed paths with. Lois is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Roxane Hiller (Three Hills); her daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Richard Lauder (Airdrie); her beloved grandchildren Chantelle Hiller and Chris Petterson (along with great grandson Kayden), Clay Hiller, Jenae Lauder, and Jaden Lauder; her brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Lois Colter (High River); and her niece, Melanie MacLean (Minburn). She is predeceased by her parents, Clayton and Marjorie, her husband Glen, her sister June MacLean, and her niece, Cindy MacLean. Funeral arrangements will be announced. Please check Sunset Funeral Service, Linden AB www.sunsetltd.ca for details. If friends wish, contributions can be made in memory of Lois to Stars Air Ambulance or the Calgary Children’s Foundation.
