Members of the Rumsey-Rowley 4-H Club claimed both Grand and Reserve Champion titles at the Drumheller and District 4-H Show and Sale on Monday.     With 34 calves averaging $2.33/lb, Jorden Ferguson raised the Grand Champion steer at $2.80/pound and the main Angus steer weighed in at 1,388 pounds, bought by Drumheller Chrysler. Reserve Champion was Tiffany Richmond’s steer, weighing in at 1,267 pounds and sold for $2.70 a pound to Drumheller Western Chevrolet Pontiac Buick GMC.
“It was great,” said organizer Melony Nelson, adding the Morrin 4-H Multi-club’s canoe they built as a food bank fundraiser was bought by Don Svatos of Delia for $3,400. The proceeds will go to the Drumheller Food Bank, with proceeds matched by Encana.
