Police break up grow-op near Standard

    Two people have been charged after RCMP discovered marijuana plants at a rural residence near Standard.     On Thursday, September 9 The Gleichen/ Siksika RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP Emergency Response team attended to a rural residence near the Village of Standard to conduct a search for weapons and for an individual with outstanding arrest warrants.
    Within the residence, the police discovered several marijuana plants, and called in the Calgary Green Team to dismantle the growing operation.
    Christopher James Roberto, 26, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, discharging a firearm with intent, uttering threats and possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
    Roberto was remanded and appeared in court in Calgary on September 14.
    Danielle Miller, 22, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and production of a controlled substance.
    Miller has been released from custody and will be appearing in Siksika provincial court on October 21st.
