Demo Derby smashing success over weekend

The Drumheller Ag. Society is out of one pot and into another with the successful demolition of beloved scrappers at the Demolition Derby this weekend.

Over 600 people attended the show at the Stampede Grounds on both Saturday and Sunday to witness the return of 8-cylinder champion Devon Groenveld of Drumheller.
Clay Wheeldon took second in the 8-cylinders, followed by Steve Charlton for third.
In the 4-cylinder event, D.J. Landon took the first place spot over Dana Landon, and David Denton taking third in the pit.
The well numbered trucks category saw Jerry Kultgen taking the top-spot over Rod Kultgen and Sean Johnson, second and third respectively.
First place for the women’s category was Christie Klampski. Second and third place results were not available by presstime.
“It went very well,” says Agricultural society president Larry Duxbury, “it was very well attended.”
The Stampede Grounds will bear the Badlands Dinosaur Derby this weekend, and the society says they still have room for volunteers which would be more than welcome.
