A Big Valley woman has become one of the newest millionaires in the province after winning big in the LOTTO MAX draw on March 29.
Deborah Brown matched all seven numbers for one of the MAXMILLIONS prizes awarded in the March 29 LOTTO MAX draw.
After checking her tickets using the self-checker at a local store a few days after the draw, Brown discovered she was holding onto a $1 million winning ticket! She scanned the ticket five times before the reality of her windfall sunk in.
“When I got back to my car, my daughter called me and said I sounded funny. I told her, ‘I just won a million dollars!’” Brown recalled as she claimed her prize.
The newly-minted millionaire has some plans for her windfall.
“I’d like to help out my daughter and buy a new vehicle for myself for the first time,” Brown said.
The recent retiree also looks forward to using her winnings to make more out of her retirement and travel.
She purchased her winning ticket at the Stettler Sobeys at 4607 50 Street in Stettler on the day of the draw. She won by matching the MAXMILLIONS numbers 17, 23, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 42.
“It’s out of this world,” added Brown.
