Samuel family donates rescue equipment in memory of passed son, Jim

DSC 0654

The Samuel family presented the Drumheller Fire Department with the generous donation of a Stokes rescue basket and backboard in memory of James “Jim” Samuel on Friday, August 13.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the family postponed a memorial service for Jim until restrictions allowed and asked, in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to the Drumheller Fire Department with which the family has had a long history of involvement. Jim served as an active member of the department for many years, and his father Jack Samuel served as the department’s third fire chief for some 17 years.
The Stokes rescue basket will help facilitate rescues by allowing the department to transport patients through terrain which may be otherwise unsuitable for standard stretchers.
