Theft of timbers investigated

IMG 4400

The Hanna RCMP are investigating the theft of timber from a local attraction and historical site.

Between May 9 and June 22, 2020, some very large timbers were taken from the Hanna Roundhouse Society property.

Due to the size of the timbers, it is likely that several people were involved or some heavy equipment was used to load them.

The timbers date back to the early 1900's and have significant historical value.

If you mistakenly took some of these timbers on the belief they were of no value then police  are encouraging you to contact the Hanna Roundhouse Historical Society and arrange for their return.  You can also just return them to where you got them from.

“If you return the timbers before we get a Crime Stoppers tip we will sidetrack this investigation.  However, if we get the tip prior to their return we will keep steaming ahead with the investigation and you will be on a one-way track to court,” states a release.

If anyone has information regarding this or any other unsolved crime, please call the Hanna RCMP Detachment at 403-854-3393 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.  Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information that leads to an arrest.
