Local students cast their vote, mostly favour Conservatives

More than 1.1 million elementary and secondary students participated in the Student Votes Canada.
    The results showed that the Liberal Party of Canada won 110 seats to form a minority government.The NDP formed the Official Opposition with 99 seats.
    Locally, Damien Kurek of the CPC was the clear winner, with 56 per cent of the vote at DVSS, 81 per cent of the vote at Greentree School and 64 per cent at St. Anthony’s.
    The runner up at DVSS was Natasha Fryzuk of the NDP, at Greentree School, the NDP came in second, followed by the Green Party. The Liberals and the PPC received no votes.
    At St. Anthony’s, David Michaud of the PPC came in second place, followed by the Liberals, the Green party and the NDP.
