Town hires new Economic Development Officer

The Town of Drumheller is pleased to announce the hiring of a Julia Fielding as the new Economic Development and Communications Officer. 

Mrs. Fielding will commence her new role on May 25, 2016.

Julia has an extensive background working within the not for profit sector most recently as the Executive Director / “Pitboss” for the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site. She is also the current Vice Chair of Travel Drumheller and an active member of the Drumheller Public Library Board.

Mrs. Fielding has over 15 years of experience in a number of museums in Canada and the United Kingdom in the capacities of Executive Director, Education Manager and Learning and information Officer. 

She also has experience working in a municipal government capacity for the City of Coventry (England).

Julia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Huddersfield (Yorkshire, United Kingdom) and a Post Graduate Certificate from the University of Leeds (United Kingdom).

“Julia’s education and experience make her a great fit for this position,” says Mayor Terry Yemen. 

The Mayor adds, “It is an important time for Drumheller to move forward on a number of key economic development activities and Julia will be working hard with the Economic Development Advisory Committee to ensure that we continue to grow.”

The Economic Development and Communications functions are keys to making Drumheller an innovative and vibrant community.
