The Drumheller Dragons will end 2014 with a win.
The Dragons hosted the Okotoks Oilers Monday night and took a 4-1 win.
Connor Duncan opened the scoring on the power play nine minutes into the first but the Oilers answered back just 26 seconds later to tie the game. The game stayed tied until the 15:52 mark of the second period when Clint Filbrandt scored the Dragons second goal. Mitchell Cook took another to the back of the net with 14 seconds left in the second period to give the Dragons a two goal lead. Keaton Holinaty secured the Dragons win scoring the fourth goal leaving the final score at 4-1. Dragons goaltender Jonny Hogue saved 40 shots in front of a crowd of 739 people.
The Dragons are now off for the Christmas holidays until January 2 when they will play their first home-and-homer in Brooks against the Bandits. January 3 they return home to play the second game. Game time January 3 is 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Arena.
