RCMP arrest suspect in armed robbery

Drumheller RCMP have a 25 year-old-man in custody and charges are pending in relation to an armed robbery in downtown Drumheller Wednesday night.
At about 9:30 p.m. on June 19, Drumheller RCMP responded to a complaint of an armed robbery at the Drumheller Liquor Store on North Railway Avenue.
Several RCMP members attended the scene where they learned the suspect entered premises and produced what appeared to be a small gun and demanded cash from the liquor store employee.
The clerk complied and opened the till. The suspect grabbed some money and exited the store, heading west.
During the investigation, RCMP reviewed the store video, which gave police a good description of the suspect and his clothing. About an hour later, a 25-year-old matching the description of the suspect was located and arrested.
Charges of using a firearm during the commission of a robbery are pending. The suspect has been in the Drumheller area for about 10 months.
