Town council approves three year agreement with unions

     Drumheller Town Council ratified a new three year collective agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 4604 and Local 135 at its regular meeting on June 3, 2013. 
    The unions, which represents inside workers (CUPE 4604) and outside workers (CUPE 135), ratified the agreements on May 24, 2013.
    The three year contracts cover 2013, 2014 and 2015.  It includes a wage increase of 3%, 3% and 3.5% for each year, along with increased maximums for vision and dental benefits.
    CUPE Local 4604 union represents approximately 22 full time and up to 35 part time and seasonal Town employees.  Its members include technical, clerical, administrative assistants, bylaw officers and pool staff.
    CUPE Local 135 union represents approximately 23 full time and up to 9 part time and seasonal Town employees.  Its members include technical, trades and skilled labour.
