Winding down after Carbon Centennial bash

Carbon’s Centennial has come and gone, and after an eventful weekend, the village will return to a little more peace and quiet.

All in all, many people were drawn to celebrate the 100 birthday of the vibrant community of Carbon.

“I think for the Friday breakfast alone we had 300 attendees. Saturday morning there was more like 650 who lined up for the meal,” said Deb Grosfield, Chief Administrative Officer of the Village of Carbon.

One of the biggest draws was  the All Star Centennial Stage. Grosfield said when Canadian country musician, Aaron Lines, hit the stage, around 900 people came out to catch the action.

“I had many comments that our Centennial beats everybody’s hands down,” said Grosfield.

Another big highlight of the weekend was the helicopter rides over the village said Donna Hay, one of the event organizers.

“All in all I believe the weekend was a great success,” said Hay.
