Man killed in Highway 9 and 21 collision

On July 14th, 2012 at 5:45 P.M., Beiseker RCMP attended a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 9 and 21. Upon arrival police were advised that one adult male of Airdrie, Alberta was pronounced deceased. Additionally one adult female of Iron Springs, Alberta was transported by STARS air ambulance in critical condition. Her husband and three children were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Strathmore. Police are withholding names out of respect for the family and until next of kin notifications can be completed. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor but speed is. The collision occurred at a controlled intersection. The RCMP collision reconstructions attended the location and police are conducting an ongoing investigation.

Multiple witness and other motorists stopped and provided invaluable assistance to all parties and police would like to thank them for their assistance in providing initial first aid.
