None seriously hurt in Highway 9 collison

No one was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Highway 9 South. At roughly 2:30 p.m. on July 13, Drumheller RCMP and Badlands EMS responded to the collision and RCMP investigated.

Prior to the collision, both vehicles were travelling eastbound on South Railway Avenue, with the truck in the rear. Both vehicles turned right onto Highway 9 South. The motorcycle came to a stop as it negotiated the turn and was struck from behind by the truck at a low speed.

The male driver of the motorcycle sustained undetermind, non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Drumheller Health Centre. The male driver of the truck was uninjured. Neither vehicle had passengers. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Drumheller RCMP are continuing their investigation and charges are pending against the driver of the pickup truck.
