Boogie a dream afternoon for car lovers

The lot of the Chryslers on Highway 9 turned into a car lovers mecca on Saturday, May 26. Boogie in the Badlands brought some of the most boss cars and their owners in the area to one place for an afternoon of admiring art on wheels.

This year, a record 91 cars came out to the event. The top cars as voted by those in attendance were in third John Boucher for his ‘53 Fargo, in second Lloyd Boles for his Barracuda, and in first was Mac Fletcher for his ‘65 Cobra.

The Boogie was done in support of the Drumheller Humane Society. The show set another record this year, raising roughly $2400 for the humane society, compared to the $1600 raised in 2011.

After the show, residents may have noticed a rise in stylish traffic on the roads as many of the car owners took some time to drive to Sunshine Lodge and around Drumheller showing that cars can be more than transportation, they can br works of art.
