From Rosebud to Badlands: Bob Davis takes on new role to develop tourism

Bob Davis is on the move again, but he is not going far.

Davis has spent the last eight years at the helm of Rosebud Centre of the Arts. He has resigned to take on a new role with Canadian Badlands.
“We are deeply grateful to Bob for eight years of excellence,” said Rosebud Centre of the Arts board chair Colin Jackson. “He has led the organization with skill, passion and set the highest of standards for hard work. There are many highlights of his tenure. One that shines the brightest and leaves a lasting legacy is his managing of the fundraising, design and construction of our new, $5 million Rosebud Mercantile building. We wish Bob our blessings and look forward to his frequent attendance at our shows for many years to come.”
Davis lands not that far from where he is now, as he will be the Tourism Development Manager for Canadian Badlands Ltd., and will be working in Drumheller. Previous to his tenure at Rosebud, he was manager of the Drumheller Regional Chamber of Development and Tourism.
“Not only does Bob come with a legacy of success at the Rosebud Centre of the Arts, he has been a supporter for many years for the ongoing development of the Canadian Badlands as an iconic tourism destination,” says Jody Lamb, Interim Executive Director, CBL. “Bob will be a tremendous addition to the Canadian Badlands team.”
Davis will complete his work at Rosebud at the end of October.
“I am grateful for the support from patrons, donors, volunteers, and above all – the staff at Rosebud Centre of the Arts during my time,” said Davis.
He looks forward to his new role with Canadian Badlands. It is a non-profit corporation with 62 member municipalities that has the goal of developing tourism in South–Eastern Alberta.
“I have been fortunate to have worked with an organization and in a community that is an Alberta treasure in the arts, education, hospitality and tourism," said Davis. "As I step into my new role in tourism development with the Canadian Badlands Limited, I look forward to continuing to work in partnership with Rosebud Centre of the Arts.”
“I look forward to bringing my skill and passion to the Canadian Badlands Ltd.”
