Rosebud hosts 6th Annual Fifteen Minutes of Fame music festival

Rosebud, is perhaps best known for its theatre productions that attract 40,000 visitors annually. It is also home to the Rosebud School of the Arts, a post-secondary institution that offers conservatory training in theatre and music to students, many of whom advance to perform in productions by Rosebud Theatre.

Since 2006, Rosebud has gained a reputation for hosting 15 Minutes of Fame, a one-day music festival in early September.
15 Minutes of Fame began when two local artists combined parties and emerged with one fantastic celebration. Each year, the event has evolved to encompass more elements of art and to grow in attendance.
“This is a fun and exciting event for music fans and for Rosebud,” says event volunteer, Heather Little. “The music festival showcases Rosebud as a travel and entertainment destination for both its beauty and artistic expressions. To sit on a blanket or a chair and take in this wide array of music is both relaxing and rejuvenating. I love being part of this great event that is a terrific time for musicians and audiences.”
Some of the performers at this year’s 15 Minutes of Fame include: Calum Graham, a 19-year-old guitar virtuoso from High River, who won 1st Place at the 2010 Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition.
Also performing are The Fire Coulee Bandits, a Celtic-rock group from Drumheller.
Rosebud’s popular Celtic folk trio The Peacocks, featuring Talitha Peacock (Celtic harp), Rachel Peacock (Celtic harp/flute) and Travis Friesen (vocals/guitar) will offer festivalgoers a unique sound.
And, re-uniting for one concert, is local favourite, the Rosebud River Valley Boys.
15 Minutes of Fame runs 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Sunday, September 4 at the West Opera House Square in Rosebud and is appropriate for all ages. Please be aware that this is an outdoor event so dress appropriately. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the World’s Largest Dinosaur in Drumheller or at the Royal Sproule Art Gallery in Rosebud.
