Who Are You: Rudollph

rudolph

Age: Older than Siberian tundra.
Occupation:
I’m often the lead reindeer that pulls Santa Clause’s sleigh.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Helping Santa deliver all the presents Christmas Eve. And When the weather’s bad, I get to use my shiny nose.
How did you get into that line of work?
I’m a fourth generation Christmas reindeer.
Did the family connection to the business make it easier?
Not at all. My cousin and I were both bullied as youngsters, me for my red nose. Our parents and instructors helped the bullying stop, and things improved.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised at the North Pole. Other than attending college in Iceland, I’ve lived there my whole life.
Are reindeer real?
We are. We live in many parts of Europe and North America. We’re also called caribou in North America.
How do you fly with Santa and his sleigh?
You know, there are a lot of theories out there, but I just can’t disclose it - it’s a trade secret.
What kind of training do you have to take?
Well, there is a list of official physical tests we have to pass each  year, but the most difficult is the Tundra Bowl. It’s like a Tough Mudder for Reindeer - obstacles everywhere.
What’s your favourite Christmas meal?
Carrots and vegetables the kids leave out Christmas Eve, reindeer moss salad with shaved willow and wild mushrooms for Christmas dinner.
How much time do you spend on social media?
Not a lot. I actually enjoy reindeer computer games more.
Final thoughts?
Merry Christmas to all!
