BRAUNBERGER
(nee Yemen)
Catherine Anne

March 3, 1944 - September 3, 2023

Catherine passed away September 3rd, 2023 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
Catherine was born in Victoria, British Columbia March 3rd 1944 to Fred and Catherine Yemen.
As a child she moved with her parents to Dartmouth Nova Scotia where she received her schooling and graduated from Prince Andrew High School. After graduating, Catherine attended business college and went to Montreal where she worked for the House of Seagrams before moving to Coburg, Ontario where she worked for the assessment department. When Catherine’s father retired from the Navy, her parents moved west to Drumheller Alberta; she followed them west to Calgary, Alberta where she worked for Computer Sciences of Canada. Catherine would go to Drumheller on weekends to see her parents; during one of these visits she met the love of her life, Bill Braunberger. Catherine and Bill were married September 16, 1969 and spent the next 54 years loving, honouring and respecting each other. Cathy and Bill had two children; her “precious son” Nathan, and her “favourite daughter” Erin, who were her pride and joy. Cathy was a top realtor in Drumheller for 25 years. In their retirement Bill and Cathy moved to Sechelt, BC where they enjoyed time on their boat fishing for crab, and on the golf course perfecting their games. After twenty amazing years on the coast, Cathy and Bill returned to live in Drumheller in a house they had built. She quickly realized that Drumheller was too far from her daughter and again planned a move to Saskatoon to be closer to her daughter’s family and her grandchildren.
Cathy is predeceased by her son Nathan, her mom Catherine and her father Fred. Left to mourn are her husband Bill, her daughter Erin (Cory) Choponis, her grandchildren Brady, Chloe and Reid Braunberger, and Matthew and Morgan Choponis, her siblings Lynn (Jim) Nowasad, Sandy Guimont, and Terry (Pam) Yemen along with many extended family and very close friends. All those in Cathy’s “life boat” surely knew their value in her life and will remember her always.
Cathy hated funerals and often quipped that she wouldn’t even attend her own, so in honour of her wishes there will be no service.
Cathy was a charitable person, often giving a gentle hand up to those in need. As such, in lieu of flowers, please help someone as she would have, or make a donation to your charity of choice.
