It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Letty Sibbald. Mom was born in Edmonton, on October 31, 1920 and passed away in Drumheller, October 2, 2011 just short of her 91st birthday. She was raised in Munson and married her one true love, Ken Sibbald in 1938. They resided in Fleet, Twining, Acme, Bircham, and spent almost 20 years in Huxley where Dad was a grain buyer for the Alberta Wheat Pool. When Dad retired, they moved into Drumheller. In August of 2009, Mom moved into the Sunshine Lodge where she lived until her passing. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Ken in 1982, her parents Nick and Dana Zlatteff, two brothers; Stan and Danny and one grandson, Michael. Devoted to her family, she leaves behind four loving children: Jerry Sibbald (Helen) of Red Deer, AB, Lynn Hughes of Calgary, AB, Pam McLellan (Kerry) of Munson, AB, Dan Sibbald (Grace) of Pincher Creek, AB. Seven grandchildren: Jan (Russ), Lori-Ann, Chris (Krista), Kenneth, Alyssa (Rob), Nikki (Alan), Mallary (Colin), and ten great grandchildren, and her brother Mark in Calgary, AB. Mom was also survived by numerous other family members and friends. She loved knitting, bowling, curling, playing bingo and was the Calgary Flames biggest fan. Her grandson, Kenneth took her to many hockey games and she collected Flames memorabilia for years. Mom was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Her legacy is the love, laughter, good food (butterhorns and flapper pie especially) and fond memories that we will each cherish. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. A celebration of Mom’s life will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Knox United Church in Drumheller, AB at 2:00 PM. I AM ALWAYS WITH YOU
When I am gone, release me,
 let me go.
I have so many things to
 see and do,
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had
so many good years.
I gave you my love,
and you can only guess
How much you’ve given
me in happiness.
I thank you for the love
that you have shown,
But now it is time I travelled
 on alone.
So grieve for me a while,
 if grieve you must
Then let your grief be
comforted by trust
That it is only for awhile
that we must part,
So treasure the memories
 within your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me,
call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear
All my love around you
 soft and clear
And then, when you
come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home”.
