FOURNIER, Laurine (Dolly) Gladys

Fournier – Laurine (Dolly) Gladys, born August 6, 1921 in Sangudo, Alberta passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 6, 2011 at the age of 90 years.  She leaves to mourn her twelve children, Ted; Keith (Barb); Doreen (Mike) Saulnier; Diane (Bob) Alford; Gary (Clara); Gordon (Wanda); Shirley (Gordon) Wilton; Ron (Vivian); Larry (Cathy); Bob (Donna); Susan Hankins (Jay); Roy (Karen); 30 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.  Dolly was predeceased by her husband Edmund (Frenchy) Fournier, her parents James and Margaret, sister Helen and nephew Rod. Dolly’s passion was her family. Every Sunday she would call each of her children to invite them for supper as she enjoyed cooking and having her family close to her.  She loved sewing, knitting and embroidering.  Her legacy is the love, laughter, great food and close knit family. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene (627 – 6 Street East, Drumheller) on October 13th at 2:00 p.m., with interment following at the Drumheller Cemetery.  Lunch to follow back at the church.  If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Sandra (Sandy) Annette Brown of Big Valley, Alberta. Sandy, beloved wife of Arnie, passed away peacefully at the age of 54 years. Sandy fought a long and courageous battle of lupus. Sandy is forever lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 24 years, her stepchildren Jennifer and Amber, her grandchildren, her Mom and Dad Joan and John Adams, her sister and brother, as well as her mother-in-law Patricia Brown, and family as well as many friends and loved ones. Memorial Service for Sandy will be held in Drumheller at Whif’s on October 15 from 3:30-5:00. Donations can be made to the Lupus Society.

HAY, Lindsay

Lindsay Hay, the beloved husband of Rose Hay, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on October 4, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Lindsay was raised in the Carbon area where he farmed the family homestead until moving to Drumheller in 2009. He is survived by his wife Rose, his step-children; Heather (Ron) Plett, Myron (Marian) Bettcher and Brenda (Kevin) Anderson, and grandchildren; Matthew (Bri) Plett, Ryan Plett, Melissa (Rob) Spencer, Melanie Bettcher and Ethan Anderson, and great granddaughters Gillian Spencer and Ariella Plett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family. A private family service was held at the Carbon Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the homecare staff, the nursing staff at the Linden and Drumheller Health Care Centers and to lifelong physician Dr. Miller, for their care, compassion and kindness shown to Lindsay.
