James Henry (Jim) Wilton passed away in Calgary on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the age of 81 years. He was born and spent his entire life in Drumheller and was employed in many occupations including truck driving for different companies in the valley. He also drove taxi and worked as a bartender at the Whitehouse and Waldorf Hotels. His last job before retiring was driving pilot truck for McLean’s Construction. Jim married Frances Campbell on December 1, 1950 and together they raised a family of eight children. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and was happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, supplying the families with fresh produce all summer, watching sports especially the Calgary Flames and collecting coins. He passed his coin collecting interest on to his children and grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mabel; brothers, Doug and Bill; sister Bonnie Smith and beloved son Darrell. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances; children, Carol (Garry) Mahoney, Allan, Dave (Donna), Don (Eleanor), Brian (Audrey), Debbie Schinnour and Mike; 19 grandchildren and their spouses; and 20 great grandchildren; brothers, Ken, Bob (Marie), and Gordon (Shirley); sister Barb Campbell; many nieces and nephews; a friend he could always count on, Dorelle Lowes-Peterson; and many friends and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers if desired, donations may be made to the Drumheller Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Church of the Nazarene beginning at 3 p.m. Personal Alternatives of Airdrie are in charge of arrangements
