It is with great sadness that the Dropko family announces the sudden passing of Darlene Laing of Toronto on November 21, 2008. Darlene was born and raised in Drumheller, where she completed high school prior to attending Mount Royal College. Darlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Doug and her son Ryan (Dawn) of Denver, Colorado and daughter Stephanie of Toronto. Darlene is survived by her mother Helen Dropko of Drumheller and was pre-deceased by her father, John. She is also fondly remembered by her brother Brian (Nancy) of Calgary and their children Bradon and Carlyn, her brother Ken of Edmonton and her sister Karen (Frank) Unkerskov of Calgary and their children Jessica and Tyler. She was predeceased by several aunts and uncles, however, Darlene is survived by two aunts, Jenny Farmer of Calgary and Helen Pinkus of Drumheller. She is also survived by numerous cousins. A funeral service commemorating Darlene’s life was held in Toronto on Wednesday, November 26, 2008.
