It is with sadness that the family of George Hettler announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on November 28, 2008 at the age of 81 years. He was born on the family farm south of Youngstown, AB., on September 15, 1927; where he spent his entire life until retiring to Hanna, AB for the last four years. He is survived by his sister Elsie McFall of Vancouver, B.C. and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his wife Beatrice; one brother and three sisters. George took great pride in his farming; especially his cattle and machinery. He was dedicated to his church and community. George enjoyed curling and rarely missed a chance to participate in bonspiels. His wit and stories will be with us always. Funeral service was held at St. Georges Catholic Church in Hanna, AB on December 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, interment was at Youngstown Cemetery with lunch at the Youngstown Community Hall.
