EMANN
Eileen Mabel

June 24, 1938 ~ May 9, 2017

It is with profound sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Eileen Emann of Drumheller passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 9, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Leonard, her father Henry, her step father Alec, and her mother Christine. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: 2 sons Greg (Shannon), Darcy (Lana); 2 daughters Shelene (Mario) Giraldi, Colleen Emann; 8 grandchildren Sandi (Jason) Funk and 7 great grandchildren, Megan (Tyler) Dyck and 3 great grandchildren, Thomas Emann, Joel (Molly) Emann, Riley (Lindsey) Emann and 2 great grandchildren (Emily and Macie), Lucas Giraldi, Karissa Giraldi, and Chelsey Giraldi. She is also survived by her sister Patricia (Dennis) Evans. Eileen was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on June 24, 1938. She met and married Len in Medicine Hat in 1956. Eileen and Len resided in Drumheller since 1968. They owned and operated Town and Country Services for many years until Len’s death in 1991. Eileen worked for D.A.R.T.S. for 17 years where she was a respected and much admired team member. She was also a volunteer with Special Olympics for many years and enjoyed travelling with the individuals. Eileen was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years. Special thanks go to Dr. Kuschke, and the nurses and staff at the Drumheller Hospital for their outstanding care of Eileen. There will be a private family service held at a later date. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
