ING, Eileen Marie

July 20, 1951 - November 12, 2015

Eileen Marie, beloved and cherished wife of Clifford passed away peacefully on November 12, 2015. Eileen was born on July 20, 1951 in Brooks, Alberta, the only child of Morris and Alice Helderweirt. Eileen grew up on the family farm in Rowley, Alberta. After graduation she worked in the coffee shop in Morrin and helped as the unpaid hired hand on the farm with her Dad. She met Cliff and they were married on August 23, 1973. Eileen and Cliff then moved to Seebee, Alberta where she worked as the manager at a gift ship in Kananaskis Village. Due to the failing health of her parents, Cliff and Eileen moved back to Drumheller where she worked for Funland Amusements, Prehistoric Parks and Jack Vickers at Vickers Pharmacy. After retirement Eileen dedicated most of her time to pursuing her passion of growing plant and flower gardens around her home, especially roses, which were her favorite. She knew the common and horticultural name for everything she grew. She took every precaution to maintain the flower’s beauty by erecting fences and barriers to keep the dreaded deer away. Birds, local squirrels and rabbits were common guests at her home, coming for the treats she provided. The same went for her indoor pets Dingo and Nosey. Their passing affected Eileen deeply and she missed them everyday. Cliff and Eileen spent 44 wonderful years together as life partners. She will be missed by all that knew here, especially her loving husband Cliff. At Eileen’s request, there will be no formal funeral service and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Drumheller and District Humane Society, PO Box 1474, 1121D South Railway Ave, Drumheller, AB, T0J0Y0. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements (403 823 2666).
