Home sweet home for the Little Church

littlechurchreturned

The Little Church has finally returned home.
On Tuesday, June 23 the Little Church made it’s return back to its original location on North Dinosaur Trail.
On October 30, 2014 the Little Church had been discovered to have been vandalized. A fire had burned a hole through the floor and smoke damage was present. After a closer inspection, extensive repairs would be required to ensure the longevity of the popular attraction.
A partnership between the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce and the Drumheller Institution with help from the Town of Drumheller’s Public Works department enabled the Little Church to be moved to the Institution’s carpentry shop in February 2015 and repairs completed by inmates enrolled in the pre-carpentry program. Materials for the project were provided by the Chamber of Commerce with DeMott Floors Ltd. donating new flooring.
“The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce is appreciative of the outstanding work done by the staff and inmates of the Pre-carpentry Program at the Drumheller Institution. We are pleased to have the Little Church back in place, so that it can once again be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike,” stated Heather Bitz, Executive Director of the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce in a press release on Tuesday.
