St. Anthony’s athletes perform well at zones

The St. Anthony’s junior high track and field team ended their season at the Zone meet in Calgary and came away with some great results.
    The team garnered 9 points, and placed 44th overall, out of 72 schools representing the South Central Zone. The athletes had some great personal performances.
    Cayden Zacharuk placed 7th in the Grade 7 shot put, 15th in discus and 14th in javelin.
    Kaitlyn Paarup placed 17th in Grade 8 100m dash and Emily Wright placed 14th in the Grade 8 200m dash.
    Payton Zacharuk placed 7th in Grade 9 shot put, 2nd in discus and 10th in javelin.
    Lucas Aulenback showed promise on the field and placed 11th overall in Grade 8 100m dash and 10th in high jump, 7th in long jump and 3rd in triple jump.
    Donavan Snider placed 15th in Grade 8 800m run and 12th in the 1,500m.
    Zones were held June 2 at Foothills Athletic Park.
