Three Hills RCMP investigate fatal collision on Highway 21

cruiser copy 2Three Hills RCMP are investigating after a stolen truck was involved in a fatal collision this morning near Delburne.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Dec. 19, a Dodge Ram pick-up truck was traveling southbound on Highway 21 at the Delburne entrance when it crossed the centre line and entered the opposite ditch. The driver of the truck brought the vehicle back onto the road where it entered into on-coming traffic and collided with a northbound S.U.V.

The driver of the S.U.V., a 61- year-old male was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A female passenger in the S.U.V. was also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The 25-year-old man and 46-year-old man from the Dodge Ram left on foot and were brought back by witnesses to receive medical attention. They were also taken to hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Traffic was re-routed around the collision scene for several hours today. Three Hills RCMP and the RCMP Collision Analyst are continuing to investigate with assistance from Red Deer General Investigation Section.
